Steering Committee

On this page you will find the job description for the Steering committee members and a self nomination form. At this stage we plan to put 5 people in total on this committee, the committee will consist of one board member and is expected to have 4 meetings per annum amongst the committee members and 2 meetings per annum with the board. The group set up for communications for this committee will be monitored by the board. Because this committee affects the general running of Cycle, the members may be called upon on specific issues and projects via email

Job Description
Role and Responsibilities
  • Help guide the ongoing values of Cycle
  • Help to shape and hold the values to account
  • Communicate the values to the member base
  • Work with key stakeholders of other organizations to demonstrate our values.

Requirements
  • Ability to be a leader and have strong opinions
  • Must be morally strong (high values)
  • Ability to work online and use tools allowing virtual presence
  • Willing to get involved
  • Some typing and document writing abilities would help

Preferred Skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Able to work with others
  • Controlled debating

Additional Notes

The Steering committee’s role is to work with both internal and external stakeholders of Cycle.


Internally, the Steering Committee will work to develop the Core Values that Cycle will operate under, whilst externally the Steering Committee will work to communicate the benefits of these Core Values.
